TreasurerÕs Report: The Troop checking account contains $1,996.13. A nomimal Camp 175 usage donation was sent to Harry from one of the Troops using the Camp 175 facilities. Insurance, utilities and maintenance costs are significant. The Camp usage donations help offset these high costs.

Scoutmaster Report:

Jason reported that the Venture Crew is signed up for Philmont in June 14, 2005. The requirements are Star and 15 years of age. A deposit of $350 for this trip is needed by October 26th. The total is estimated to be close to $900. Repeat Ð sign up and deposit required by October 26th.

Some equipment from this past Philmont is still outstanding. Please return all Troop 175 camping equipment.

NESA will hold an advancement day to work on various merit badges. Date is November 13 at a location TBD. The cost is $10 and is a very affordable (time and cost) way to meet the requirements for various Eagle required merit badges.

We need more adults to step forward and help out with the various activities and committees.

Camp 175:

Jeff Hayden surveyed the effects of Ivan on Camp 175. The Camp gates were open and the mess hall door open. No visible signs of vandalism or damage were noted. The Camp suffered no damage from the wind and rains. Camp 175 committee will explore better means to secure the camp.

Jeff indicated that the work day, scheduled for this Saturday, October 9th will be very brief as not many items are needed to be worked on at this time. Work will start at Camp 175 by 9:30. A few circular saws, saw horses and hammers will be required.

Website:

Chuck Martin indicated that he has installed a newer, faster server after the storms damaged his old server. The website is back online. Frank Golley will be updating the website in the near future.

Old Business:

The Q-shack will need some work from the storm damage. Contact Wayne Weeks if you can assist him. Work is minimal and involves a hole in the roof eave and electrical light work.

New Business:

Scoutmaster search committee is reviewing potential candidates for JasonÕs replacement. After 15 years, Jason desires to step down and help out as an Assistant SM. The Troop currently has 3 retired Scoutmasters that are active and an active Troop Committee.

This monthÕs program will focus on firearms and fire arms safety, with the annual FloydÕs Farm trip in November.

The word of the month is Loyal.

Upcoming Activities:
