Meeting was held at the Scout Hut.
Attendees: Eric Webber (Chairman), Harry DeMille, Wayne Weeks, Buz McGriff, Charlie Gowing, Carl McAllister, Theresa Gillespie, Bob King, Jeff Hayden, Gary Cornell, Frank Golley, Jason Uchitel, Bruce Lewis.
Harry DeMille opened the meeting with a prayer.
Secretary’s Report: The February minutes were approved as submitted.
Eagle Projects: Eagle Scout candidates Cameron McAllister and Matt Rodriguez submitted their projects to the board for an approval:
Cameron’s project is to construct several picnic tables to be used by refuge group sponsored by the Georgia Mutual Assistance Association in the Stone Mountain, Clarkston area.
Matts project was to construct a set of stairs on the St Thomas Moore School campus.
The board approved both projects.
Scoutmaster’s Report: Scoutmaster, Frank Golley stated that the Pine Mountain Camping/Hiking trip scheduled March 19 has a cutoff date of Tuesday, March 15 for sign up, bring signed permission slips. Frank noted that we need a volunteer to represent the Troop at Roundtable meetings.
Some one is also need to coordinate transportation for upcoming trips. We also need adult volunteers to sign up for Camp 175 summer camp.
At the March 22 meeting we will have numerous Webloe’s attending our meeting. These will be potential new members. An effort needs to be made to show them and their parents that we are the most active and caring troop in the district.
High Adventure: Philmont 2005 is scheduled June 15 thru June 25, 2005.
Jason
is getting the final numbers for the plane fares and other expenses. Completed
medical forms and copies of insurance cards should be submitted to Jason. Two attendees will need first aid & CPR training. Jason advises that this
training can be completed free of cost from the American Red Cross on March 19 in Tucker. For info call (404) 575-3730 ext 3.
SLT Training: Scoutmaster Frank Golley, James Boaz and Andy Anderson completed SLT training. Terry Scoggins and Erica Gilliard completed partial training.
Camp 175: Jeff Hayden is completing a list of repairs and improvements need at Camp 175. Jeff noted that the next camp 175 board meeting will be on the first Tuesday in April.. We will meet quarterly at the Scout Hut.
Scout Sunday: Eleven Scouts and many Troop parents attended Scout Sunday at our sponsor, Decatur First United Methodist Church.
Work Day: A work day for cleaning and repairs will be held on Saturday, March 12 at the Scout hut from 9 to 12 AM.
Youth Protection: Bob King that viewing of the Boy Scout, Youth Protection films at the Scout Hut on March 13 during the Scout meeting. All adults in the Troop should make an effort to attend.
Bert Adams Camporee: The annual camporee will be held at Bert Adams Scout Reservation on April 29 & 30. We need a great turn out and be prepared to return the Golden Ax Award to its place in the Troop 175 Scout hut.
The
next Committee meeting will be held on Monday April 4th at the Scout Hut @ 7:30 PM.
