TROOP 175 & CAMP

Meeting was held at the Scout hut. Attending: Eric Weber, Charlie Gowing, Wayne Weeks, Carl McAllister, Buz McGriff, Frank Golley, Harry DeMille, Jason Uchitel, Bruce Lewis.
Charlie Gowing opened the meeting with a prayer.
Secretary’s Report: The May Minutes were approved as submitted.
Treasurers Report: Check book balance $3220.35 (Before camp expenses). Summer Camp expense to date is $1,423.72. If anyone has other unreimbursed expenses, get them to the treasurer so we can close out this camp.
Scoutmaster, Frank Golley stated that the 2005 Troop 175 summer camp was a great success with 26 Scouts attending and earning a total of 79 Merit Badges. The following adults were greatly involved in the outstanding camp.
Instructors spending the entire week included Charlie Gowing who taught leatherwork, environmental science and personal management , Andy Anderson teaching archery and pioneering and Chuck Calder who taught rowing.
Charlie O’Neill spent 2 nights and taught canoeing.
Bob King drove up daily and taught swimming.
Eric Weber drove up daily and taught orienteering.
Robert Jones spent 2 nights and cooked dinner.
Bruce Lewis spent 2 nights,
Jeff Hayden Set up camp, brought ice cream on Wednesday and prepared a spaghetti dinner.
Stewart Grant setup and spent Sunday night.
Jay Ricketts assisted by Eagle Scout Ben Ricketts prepared a rib dinner Sunday night.
Ruth Golley & Jim Paulino prepared Hot Dogs for the Friday dinner.
A BIGGG thank you for all you adult volunteers.
Thanks to Scouts Thomas Lee and Joseph Gillespie who taught a Mammals merit badge class.
Scout Master, Frank Golley advised that Troop 175 will be the Honor Guard for the City of Decatur, July 4th parade.All Scouts in uniform can march in the parade..
Jason Uchitel noted that the Troop 175, Venture crew consisting of 8 scouts and 4 adults will be leaving for Philmont Scout Ranch on June 14.
Thanks to Jeff Hayden and all the volunteers who participated in the Camp 175 workday.
Anne Bibb has graciously volunteered to chair the popcorn sales this year.
We need a Christmas wreath sale volunteer. Contact Eric Weber.
The DeKalb County Medical Reserve Corps has schedule an emergency disaster drill at the Stone Crest Mall on July 28th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Volunteers over the age of 14 are needed . A free lunch will be served. For Info call (404) 294-3700.
The next Troop 175 Scout meeting will be held at the Scout hut on August 2, with the Annual Scouts Parents softball game taking place on August 16.
Next Committee Meeting is July 11 th at 7:30 PM @ the Scout Hut.
