Meeting was held at the Scout Hut. Attending: Eric Weber, Wayne Weeks, Frank Golley, Harry DeMille, Buz McGriff, Charlie Gowing, Jim Paulino, Ashley Weeks, Michael Haro, Bruce Lewis, Jeff Hayden, Stewart Grant.
Meeting was opened with a prayer by Harry DeMille.
Secretary’s Report: The June minutes were approved as submitted.
Treasurers Report: Check book balance: $1,763.34.
Thomas Lee presented his proposed eagle project to the committee. The project consists of constructing a bridge and rebuilding walking trails in a City of Decatur park was approved as presented.
Matt Rodriguez has completed his eagle project which consists of constructing steps a walkway and landscaping at St Thomas More School. The project was approved as competed and will be submitted for district approval.
Charlie Gowing reiterated that we need to work closely with all Eagle Scout candidates to help them in planning and completing their Eagle Scout projects.
Jeremy Uchitel needs assistance with the Venture Crew.
Harry DeMille will be teaching a 10 week Seaton Orientation Course. He would like back up assistance.
Scoutmaster Frank Golley The new Camp 175 lease expires on 2014. Noted that there will be a Lake Allatoona cleanup and Camp 175 work day on the weekend of September 17 managed by Jeff Hayden. Every one needs to get their permission slips in for this week-end camp. The Troop needs a Unit Commissioner to replace John Lee while he is out of town. Popcorn sales have started. All profits will be credited to the selling scouts account.
Merit Badge University at Kennesaw State College will be held on October 15. 15 Merit badges will be offered.
Game suggestions are needed for the scout meetings. Volunteers are needed to monitor these games.
Eagle Scout Gregg Hayden has volunteered to maintain the Troop 175 web site.
James Boaz is chairman of the Troop nominating committee for 2006 officers.
The nest Committee meeting will be at the Scout hut on October 3., 7:30 PM
