Family Participation

Our Troop is BIG and it takes a lot of hands to keep things running smoothly. Troop 175 has a requirement for parent involvement. We also require families to drive on outings. Please visit the Family Participation page for details.

New Scout Camp (aka Newbie Camp)

Troop 175 offers a special camp for boys who are new to the Troop or new to scouting. Newbie Camp is held at Camp 175 on beautiful Lake Allatoona over the long Labor Day weekend. Here are some of the reasons for this special camp:

  1. To help new scouts understand the expectations for Troop 175 and how this is different than Cub Scouts.
  2. To acclimate new scouts to the Youth-Led Boy Scout program where experienced youth leaders teach the newer, less experienced scouts.
  3. To teach new scouts the skills they’ll need for some of their initial advancement and which they will need to become exemplary Boy Scouts.
  4. To have some fun!
